What’s
new at Point Sebago Resort for 2009
What does Maine’s top outdoor family resort
do for an encore? Point Sebago already has
the best children’s activities program and
the best entertainment around. But Chippy
and the Gang are always foraging the Sebago
forest, pining for new fun for families.
Here are a few new things that vacationers
can look forward to this summer season!
Point
Sebago’s Golf Cart Drive In
Ever taken your kids to a Drive In movie
theatre? Point Sebago is bringing that old
fashioned fun of Friday nights at the Drive
In back, with a new twist. You don’t want to
pile the kids into the car when you are on
vacation. So Point Sebago introduces the
Golf Cart Drive In. It’s free! And it’s fun,
with feature films for the whole family to
enjoy in the fresh air. Drive your Golf Cart
on the Beach to our Lakeside Outdoor
Theatre. Don’t have a Golf Cart? You can
rent one…or just bring your lawn chairs and
a blanket for this fun family film.
Point Sebago’s huge new movie screen is
25-feet wide by 20--feet tall. The Outdoor
Drive In Movie starts at 9:00pm Friday
nights by the Grove Tent, weather permitting
of course. Lights, camera, golf cart,
action! Point Sebago style…
Adult
Dodgeball
Hey “grown ups”, don’t act your age on
vacation. It’s time to play like a kid with
our new spin on the old gym class favorite
Dodgeball. Grab your grown up friends, and
come play this exciting, energizing ball
game of tag. This game makes Point Sebago
Washer Toss look tame! Dodge the ball, then
tag out your opponents when it’s your turn.
It sounds simple (well- it is). Who knows,
maybe we will make our own movie “Dodgeball
PS” starring you in your gym shorts.
Pickelball!
Never heard of it? Well, don’t be a sourpuss
- come learn the perplexing Pickelball game.
Pickelball is a combination of Ping-Pong,
tennis, and badminton that has been played
for two decades by people of all ages. Our
Point Sebago experts will teach you and your
family the fine art and finesse of
Pickelball, and get you practicing so you
can take part in the Point Sebago Pickleball
Playoffs later in the week (say that three
times fast)!
 Ultimate
Frisbee
If you like Frisbee and want to take it to
the next level, this could be the ultimate
game for you. Picture a field game like
soccer or football but the Frisbee is the
object that must make the End Zone. Our
staff will show you how it’s done, so you
can play this non-contact, Frisbee flying
game. Ultimate Frisbee Point Sebago style is
easy to learn and quick to love.
Man
Hunt
Like all good things at Point Sebago, Man
Hunt happens on the beach. This is Hide and
Seek Point Sebago-style as players try to
blend with the other beach goers. Players
sport a brightly colored arm band so they
are more easily spotted amongst the rest.
Scatter, scamper and hide while the clock
runs out, then hope you are the last man (or
woman) standing while the other are hunted
down.
Family
Game Night
Here’s your chance to play your favorite
family games, or discover new ones, as you
mingle with other families of all ages.
Wednesday night is Family Game Night, so
bring the gang and your best game face to
the Grove Pavilion at 8:00pm. A variety of
board games will be available from the
classics to the latest mind bogglers. Come
enjoy a good old fashioned family game
night, fun for everyone in your family.
Cheering
Camp
We know Point Sebago guests have spirit, so
let’s hear it! Our brand new Cheering Camp
will provide campers with cheering
instruction, from warm ups to skill checks.
Point Sebago Cheer Camp is offered Sunday
and Friday from 10:00-12:00pm. Come learn
the fundamentals of cheering or tweak your
cheering techniques if you are already on a
squad. At Cheer Camp you will participate in
a warm up, and learn a choreographed camp
cheer. Point Sebago’s cheer staff will have
you performing a rousing camp cheer while
making fitness fun with cheerobics. Bring it
on at Point Sebago Cheer Camp.
